Herbal Shampoo Bar

Description

Why shampoo bars?  Unlike liquid shampoos, they don’t need to be contained in a lot of packaging.  In fact, it’s a great way to cut down on the consumption of plastic.  Plus, commercial shampoos typically use harsh detergents and silicones (i.e., synthetic ingredients), whereas our shampoo bars are all natural.  You will never find any Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa) in any of our products!  Our herbal shampoo bar can be used as an all-in-one soap because it’s great for the skin, too.  We used a concentrated tea of wild foraged horsetail (known for containing high amounts of silica) and homebrewed kombucha vinegar (to balance the pH and condition the hair) to make our shampoo bars, and it’s super fatted (ie., unsaponified) with organic argan nut oil, which is a very nourishing oil for hair.  Rosemary and bergamot essential oils were also added.  Rosemany is nourishing for the scalp and helps fight dandruff, and bergamot adds shine.  Who says you can’t have gorgeous hair from a product with natural ingredients that is also environmentally friendly?!  Not us!

Compared to our Coconut Shampoo bar, our Herbal Shampoo bar is longer lasting, more nourishing for the hair and scalp, and ideal or normal to dry hair.  We recommend rinsing with a diluted apple cider (or kombucha) vinegar solution to condition and add shine. 

Directions: Get the bar wet and work it between your hands to get a thick lather.  Massage the suds on your scalp and work the suds throughout your hair.  Rinse with a apple cider vinegar solution, 3 parts water: 1 part vinegar.  (Note: we like to substitute the apple cider vinegar with our homemade kombucha vinegar.  It works beautifully and it a great way to use kombucha that has gone too sour.)

Ingredients: Canola Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Horsetail Kombucha Tea (Wild Foraged Horsetail, Water, Organic Black Tea, Sugar, & Kombucha Culture), Sodium Hydroxide, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Mango Butter, Sodium Lactate, Organic Argan Nut Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Organic Amla Oil, Organic Almond Oil, and Essential Oils (Rosemary, & Bergamot).

Each bar is approximately 3.70 ounces.
